The Cocalico High School Choralaires is an auditioned group of 36 students. This ensemble provides advanced vocalists with a higher-level choral opportunity in the Cocalico High School Music Department. The group meets on cycle days 1-4 for a half hour during the Focus period. Advanced vocal and choral techniques and musicianship are mastered through rehearsal of various types of choral repertoire, listening, critical analysis, and public performances. Choralaires’ repertoire is chosen from a variety of time periods, including contemporary music. Different styles and genres are chosen to provide awareness of choral aesthetics and performance techniques.
